About Us

About Osteo Room

Osteo Room was built on a straightforward idea: lasting results come from understanding the whole person, not just the presenting complaint. Each session is calm, unhurried, and focused on finding the root cause of what you are experiencing. We combine hands-on osteopathic care with clear, practical guidance so you leave not just feeling better but understanding why.

Duarte founded Osteo Room to practise osteopathy the way he believes it should be delivered: attentively, thoroughly, and without rushing to conclusions. Before becoming an osteopathic practitioner, he spent over a decade as a Clinical Exercise Physiologist with the Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology, working with individuals across a wide range of chronic health conditions, functional limitations, and rehabilitation needs. That foundation in movement, biomechanics, and evidence-informed care informs every osteopathic session he delivers today. A graduate of the five-year program at the Canadian School of Osteopathy Manual Practice, he is a registered member of OsteopathyBC, which requires all practitioners to meet WHO 2010 Benchmark standards for osteopathic education. Every session is conducted by him, in person, at his Vancouver clinic.

Values

Attentiveness: Taking the time to  listen.
Clarity: Explaining what we find in plain, honest language.

Calm Care: Unhurried care in a space where you feel heard.
Integrity: Evidence-informed treatment, delivered with care.

Mission

To provide attentive, hands-on osteopathic care that gets to the root of each client’s concerns and equips them with the knowledge to maintain their own health.

Vision

To build lasting relationships with clients who see osteopathic care as an essential part of how they maintain their health, not just a solution to a problem

Our Philosophy

The body does not experience pain in isolation. What shows up in one area often has its roots somewhere else entirely, in how you move, how you compensate, and how years of habits and history have shaped the way your body functions today.

Osteopathy works from this understanding. Rather than focusing only on where it hurts, we assess the whole body to find what is actually driving your discomfort. From there, treatment is hands-on, specific, and adapted to what your body needs in that session.

Each treatment is tailored to you. The focus is always on the cause, not just the symptom, so that your body moves better, holds up longer, and needs less intervention over time.

How a Session Runs

01. A Personal Conversation

We discuss on what brought you in, any discomfort you are feeling, and the activities you would like to return to.

02. Gentle Assessment

A hands-on evaluation to identify areas of tension and movement that are already functioning well.

03. Tailored Treatment

A combination of soft-tissue, visceral, and structural techniques applied according to what your body needs most.

04. Simple Follow-Up Plan

A clear, manageable plan of one or two exercises or stretches to do between sessions.
